BECOME A BREATHWORK FACILITATOR WITH OUR COMPREHENSIVE ACCREDITED 6-MONTH ONLINE TRAINING COURSE.

The Next Round Opens 6th October 2026

For the woman who’s spent years learning to breathe properly and is ready to teach someone else how to do it too.

Become a fully accredited Breathwork Facilitator without leaving the career, kids or life you’ve already built.

If any of this sounds like you

You’ve done the CPD. You’ve read the books. You might already be qualified in something else entirely. And you’re still doing the job that pays the bills instead of the work you actually want to do.

You want a career that lets you do the school run. Not an empire. Just work that means you’re there.

You’ve looked at breathwork trainings online and most of them feel like a weekend certificate stapled to a sales funnel. You’ve been burned by “transformational” courses before.

You know breathing changed something in you. You’ve felt it. But you don’t know if you’d actually be able to hold space for someone else’s breakdown, or if you’d freeze.

You’re already stretched between work, kids and everything else, and you can’t see where a whole new qualification would fit.

You want proof this actually works, from actual graduates, before you hand over a penny.

Here's what changes

You get a real, checkable qualification and the skills to run 1:1 or group sessions, plus a second income stream that grows around your life, not instead of it.

Live calls run on Tuesday evenings, so the day job, the kids and the rest of your week stay intact.

You’re dual accredited through IPHM and CIMSPA, and trained under an organisation that’s a member of the IBF (International Breathwork Foundation). That’s insurance, credibility and professional recognition, not a PDF certificate.

You learn the physiology, not just the vibe: the vagus nerve, polyvagal theory, the breath-brain connection, so you know what’s actually happening when a client reacts, and what to do about it.

You get six structured months, a 100+ page manual with ready-to-use scripts, templates and music suggestions, and a Confidence Guarantee: if you finish the course and don’t feel ready to facilitate, you get extra 1:1 support and mentoring until you do.

You get real testimonials from real graduates, a free call before you commit, and a cap of 12 people, so you’re never just a face in a cohort.

Introducing the Breathwork Facilitator Training

It’s the course built for exactly this: a dual-accredited, 6-month training in the Breathwork for Ordinary People methodology, designed so you leave able to actually facilitate, not just recite theory at people.

 HOW IS THIS COURSE DESIGNED?

This 6-month, 200-hour training has been designed to stretch your body, mind and breath with the three pillars of FOUNDATION, EXPRESSION, VISION as these 3 elements are the cornerstone of all our Teacher Training courses.

THIS IS NOT

A YOGA COURSE!

  • The first thing to know about our breathwork practitioner training is this is not a yoga course and it’s perfect for anyone who has an interest in working with clients (1:1 or groups) to help support and heal trauma.
  • You don’t need equipment and large amounts of money to get going. You learn the tools, apply them, and then you and your clients start to feel better fast.
  • Breathwork is one of the most cutting edge and impactful ways to support people. And it doesn’t take as long as Yoga or Pilates teacher training either.
  • The deepest healings happen energetically so this is perfect for mental health professionals who want to add a somatic element to their skillset or Yoga/Pilates teachers who want to deepen their offerings.
  • I teach a variety of breathwork styles to support all clients who are stressed, traumatised, and having trouble sleeping. This is not a one-size-fits-all training.

This CIMSPA endorsed and IPHM accredited qualification teaches the skills, knowledge and competence required of an individual in order to work with clients on specific breathing techniques in both 1:1 or group sessions. The Ordinary People Academy is also an organisational member of the IBF (International Breathwork Foundation).

DURING THIS TRAINING YOU WILL LEARN…

• The anatomy of the lungs; gaseous exchange; the breath-brain connection, the nasal cycle; and the physical and mental benefits of breathwork.
• How to hold (safe) space for breathwork; creating a trauma-informed space; and basic facilitation skills.
• How the breath impacts the vagus nerve and its connection to the parasympathetic nervous system; polyvagal theory; and polyvagal wellbeing.
• The structure of a breathwork session and how to build momentum with music and motivational cueing (i.e. what to say and what to play).
• The content of a breathwork session with an in-depth study of 6 unique breathwork exercises.
• Advanced Facilitation skills – planning for emotional and physical reactions; modifying for different audiences/special populations; exploring medical research studies.
• The Business of Breathwork – now expanded to cover setting up your practice, pricing, marketing and client attraction, and ethical considerations in more depth.

Listen, I didn’t know how to breathe. That’s what started the whole thing…

I’d been practising yoga since I was 13, and teaching it for 20 years, before I realised I was holding my breath and losing my centre the whole time.

Crazy, right?

People misjudge how important breath is. It’s the beginning of everything, especially healing. If you’re not breathing consciously, you’re not present, and you’re not getting the benefit of whatever work you’re trying to do to feel better. It’s so simple that it gets overlooked constantly.

I worked it out when I read A Life Worth Breathing by Max Strom. It affected me enough that I tracked him down and took his advanced breathwork teacher training. That was 15 years ago. I kept going from there: Patrick McKeown’s Oxygen Advantage, then Dan Brulé, one of the leading authorities in modern breathwork.

By then I’d already been teaching yoga, Pilates and meditation for years, and I could see that movement and breathwork together were doing something bigger than either on its own. Other teachers started asking me how I did it. Then clients started asking the same question in a different form: could they learn this too?

Since 2023 I’ve spearheaded the development of this training in the UK, because the demand for trauma-informed, nervous-system-literate facilitators keeps growing, and the training available for it didn’t match that. So I built the one I wished existed.

As the world wakes up to the potential of these modalities, I’m thrilled to be able to offer breathwork teacher training to you.

Tera

The course was so informative and struck the right balance between theory and practice. Victoria is very approachable and knowledgeable and made the learning environment welcoming. Breathwork has improved my well-being and quality of life and I can’t wait to share the benefits with others now that I have successfully passed the course.

Julie

Victoria is such an engaging mentor, she is like hanging out with a friend you haven’t seen for a little while, so supportive in so many ways and goes over and above to look after you. The course was perfectly laid out, really easy to follow and is there constantly to easily refer to which is well used by us all!  If you are curious, go for it, you won’t regret it!

Simone

I have felt so alone for the last 2 weeks, googling till the cows come home and your honesty and vulnerability in those few minutes just helped me more than you will ever know … thank you.

Alison

This breathwork facilitator course has provided so much knowledge, but most invaluable to me has been the opportunity to gain confidence in facilitation through practicing. I’ve gone from being full of imposter syndrome to feeling at ease adding my own flavour and intuition to facilitation. In fact, I loved it so much I’ve become a Tutor on the course!

Kellan

This was a fantastic course. Victoria knows how to cultivate a safe space for learning the different types of breathwork. She’s very encouraging and motivating and has a great amount of knowledge and experience both in practice and in teaching. I’d recommend to anyone who wanted to become accredited in breathwork and work in the area in a safe and respectful way.

MEET THE PEOPLE TEACHING YOU

I’m Victoria, the visionary behind the  Ordinary People Academy. With a wealth of experience and expertise in wellness, I am dedicated to empowering others to succeed in their wellness businesses while balancing the joys of motherhood.

I am not only a wellness guru but also, most days, doing the school run for my young son Alisdair, and balancing the demands of entrepreneurship with the chaotic joys of motherhood.

I have an MA Honours degree in English Literature & Sociology; an MSc in Marketing and various Certificates and Diplomas in youth and community work, training, and facilitation skills.

I founded award-winning charity Stretch & Play in 2006 and developed Stretch NI in 2009, focusing on working with adults. I moved to Scotland in 2012 and expanded work into teacher training courses with StretchBodyMind (now the Ordinary People Academy).

I have over 30 years of yoga practice and two decades of yoga teaching experience. I have been a Pilates instructor since 2006 and a Yoga Alliance Professionals Senior Yoga Teacher since 2012 and, through my high touch small group and 1:1 courses, I have personally trained hundreds of Yoga and Pilates professionals.

My dedication, expertise, and nurturing spirit have transformed countless lives, and my commitment to excellence continues to inspire wellness professionals worldwide.

It’s my most sincere hope that we blanket the world with breathwork. We have enough medication and talk therapy already.

Hi, I’m Kellan – a transmasculine, neurodivergent, trans-racial adoptee. (My pronouns are they/them).

I’m an OPAs breathwork facilitator training graduate, a trauma-informed coach, and a somatic therapist with a nutrition and lifestyle medicine postgraduate degree. I work predominantly with fellow queer folks and adoptees through my work at Kai Ming Holistics. I consider myself a ‘guide’ on people’s journeys and resonate with an intuitive approach to body-orientated nervous system regulation and somatic processing.

My journey with breathwork began with seeking a way to heal from COVID-19 fatigue. Breathwork quickly led me on a path of recovery from both fatigue and early developmental trauma I had previously thought ‘unhelpable’ and onto other somatic modalities!

I believe there is a vast amount of innate healing wisdom inside us all; it’s always communicating with us and I now combine Breathwork with Root Cause Therapy because, when we cultivate an environment where our bodies feel safe and supported, this wisdom can come forth.

I’m excited to be a part of the OPA faculty and facilitate more spaces to nourish, heal, and grow together!

I’m Lynne, the dynamic COO of the Ordinary People Academy.

Since meeting Victoria in 2015, I have been a steadfast supporter and friend, contributing significantly to the academy’s mission both behind the scenes and as an instructor.

By day, I am a registered nurse at a GP surgery, specializing in diabetes and women’s health. My dedication to Lifestyle Medicine fuels my passion for holistic well-being.

But my expertise doesn’t stop there! As a senior yoga teacher, I am devoted to helping our community maintain ease of movement and improve self-care practices as they age. Additionally, I am a skilled breathwork facilitator, guiding you to unlock profound levels of relaxation.

I would also describe myself as a wellness warrior, actively overcoming Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. On my own social media channels I share my journey and insights to help you lead a healthier, happier life through Health Coaching and Lifestyle Medicine.

I am thrilled to be part of the faculty for the Breathwork Facilitator Training course and teaching breathwork for special populations.

This is a 6-month course with peer-to-peer and public calls in between the training calls, giving plenty of time to practice breathwork instruction before final assessment.

How many hours a week is this training?

Breathwork training is about learning the skills necessary to facilitate breathwork AND about gaining the confidence to hold space for transformational experiences to occur. This needs practice!

So, during the 6 months of the breathwork course you will need approximately 2 – 3 hours a week which includes:

  • Monthly 2-hour live webinar with Victoria or another faculty member
  • Monthly 2-hour peer-to-peer call

  • 10 – 30 minutes of practice per day

You also get the improved Business of Breathwork module covering how to actually set up and market your practice once you’re certified.

Do I have to do that hyperventilation breathing I've been hearing about?

This is Breathwork for Ordinary People so we DO cover conscious connected breathing (which I assume is what you’re referring to) but we also cover a range of other breathwork techniques that are both activating and calming such as box breathing and can be added to your toolbox so you can work with everyone.
