You’ve felt what breath can do.
Now learn to hold it for someone else.
A six-month live, online breathwork facilitator training.
Accredited by IPHM.
CIMSPA’s first endorsed breathwork qualification.
Organisational member of the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF).
Capped at 12 people.
Starts 12 January 2027.
You don't need more knowledge. You need to know you wouldn't freeze.
You’ve done the CPD. You’ve read the books. You might already be qualified in something else entirely. So you keep looking for the next course, because you think the gap is information.
It isn’t. You know breathing changed something in you. You’ve felt it. What you don’t know is whether you could hold space for someone else’s breakdown, or whether you’d freeze.
Reading doesn’t answer that. Another certificate doesn’t answer that. Only practice does, with people watching who know what they’re looking at.
You’re already stretched between work, kids and everything else. The hours you give to training have to be the ones that settle it.
A weekend certificate gives you a certificate.
You’ve looked at breathwork trainings online. Most of them feel like a weekend certificate stapled to a sales funnel.
That’s a format problem, not a judgement problem. A weekend can’t give you months of practice with feedback, and practice with feedback is where the confidence to facilitate comes from.
What you were missing was never more theory. It was time, a small group and people who know what they’re looking at.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
We teach the physiology, not just the vibe.
The vagus nerve, the parasympathetic system and polyvagal theory. You learn why a client reacts the way they do, so you know what to do next.
We don’t teach one technique to everyone.
You study six breathwork exercises in depth, activating and calming, for clients who are stressed, traumatised or struggling to sleep.
This is not a yoga course.
It suits mental health professionals who want a somatic element and yoga and Pilates teachers who want to go deeper. You don’t need expensive equipment to start.
THE METHODOLOGY
Three pillars. Each one builds on the last.
The training is built on three pillars: Foundation, Expression and Vision.
Foundation. You start with the anatomy of the breath and the breath-brain connection. You learn to hold safe space for breathwork.
Expression. You learn different breathwork techniques, six of them in depth, and breathwork for special populations.
Vision. Breathing, trauma and the vagus nerve, then the business of breathwork: how to set up and market your practice.
Why the sequence matters. Everything starts at the foundation. It all begins there. Expression comes next: how a session looks and how you breathe. Vision comes last. It’s the business of it, and the end point.
WHAT GRADUATES SAY
Kellan went from imposter syndrome to tutoring on the course.
This breathwork facilitator course has provided so much knowledge, but most invaluable to me has been the opportunity to gain confidence in facilitation through practicing. I’ve gone from being full of imposter syndrome to feeling at ease adding my own flavour and intuition to facilitation. In fact, I loved it so much I’ve become a Tutor on the course!
The course was so informative and struck the right balance between theory and practice. Victoria is very approachable and knowledgeable and made the learning environment welcoming. Breathwork has improved my well-being and quality of life and I can’t wait to share the benefits with others now that I have successfully passed the course.
This was a fantastic course. Victoria knows how to cultivate a safe space for learning the different types of breathwork. She’s very encouraging and motivating and has a great amount of knowledge and experience both in practice and in teaching. I’d recommend to anyone who wanted to become accredited in breathwork and work in the area in a safe and respectful way.
If you’re curious to explore the power of breath and understand the different styles and benefits plus gain powerful experience to facilitate classes, join this course! The length of time, the structure, the support and working with a cohort held by Victoria where you feel safe and held beautifully sets you up for success!
Victoria is such an engaging mentor, she is like hanging out with a friend you haven’t seen for a little while, so supportive in so many ways and goes over and above to look after you. The course was perfectly laid out, really easy to follow and is there constantly to easily refer to which is well used by us all! If you are curious, go for it, you won’t regret it!
I have felt so alone for the last 2 weeks, googling till the cows come home and your honesty and vulnerability in those few minutes just helped me more than you will ever know … thank you.
ABOUT VICTORIA
I’d been holding my breath for years.
I’d been practising yoga since I was 13, and teaching it for 20 years, before I realised I was holding my breath and losing my centre the whole time.
People misjudge how important breath is. It’s the beginning of everything, especially healing. If you’re not breathing consciously, you’re not present, and you’re not getting the benefit of whatever work you’re trying to do to feel better.
Once I worked it out, I went and trained in breathwork properly. That was 15 years ago, and I’ve kept training ever since.
Other teachers started asking me how I did it. Then clients started asking the same question in a different form: could they learn this too?
Since 2023 I’ve spearheaded the development of this training in the UK, because the demand for trauma-informed, nervous-system-literate facilitators keeps growing, and the training available for it didn’t match that. So I built the one I wished existed.
I’ve practised yoga for over 30 years, taught Pilates since 2006 and been a Yoga Alliance Professionals Senior Yoga Teacher since 2012.
You’ll also learn from Kellan, a graduate of this training, trauma-informed coach and somatic therapist, and Lynne, our COO, a registered nurse at a GP surgery who teaches special populations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this live or pre-recorded?
Live. Teaching and practice calls run online throughout the six months. Replays go on the platform within 48 hours.
Will I be just another face in the crowd?
Absolutely not! At the Ordinary People Academy we pride ourselves on our high-touch, low-number courses.
We cap the Breathwork training at 12 people so you get plenty of individual attention from the course creator Victoria and the other faculty members.
You also get lots of opportunity to practise your skills with each other in peer-to-peer calls and with your accountability buddy so you’re never on your own.
When does it start?
The course starts with a training call on Tuesday 12 January 2027, 7pm to 9pm UK time. It ends with an assessment call on Tuesday 29 June 2027, 7pm to 9pm UK time.
How many hours a week is it?
Breathwork training is about learning the skills necessary to facilitate breathwork AND about gaining the confidence to hold space for transformational experiences to occur. This needs practice!
So, during the 6 months of the breathwork course you will need approximately 2 – 3 hours a week which includes:
- Monthly 2-hour live webinar with Victoria or another faculty member
- Monthly 2-hour peer-to-peer call
- Monthly 1-hour practice call with the public (Breathwork for Ordinary People session)
- 10 – 30 minutes of practice per day
- 30 minutes to journal after daily practice
- 30 minutes – 1 hour to prepare your case study
- 30 minutes – 1 hour to teach your case study client
What's included in the training besides the live calls?
You get a 100+ page training manual, new for this round, with ready-to-use session scripts, templates and music suggestions, so you’re never starting a session with a blank page. You also get the improved Business of Breathwork module covering how to actually set up and market your practice once you’re certified.
Do I have to do that hyperventilation breathing?
You learn conscious connected breathing, plus a range of other techniques, both activating and calming, such as box breathing. This is because not all techniques are suitable for everyone.
Part of the training is learning who shouldn’t do which techniques, how to screen clients before a session, and how to adapt or swap to a calming practice when needed.
What if a client gets upset or has a strong reaction?
That’s what most people are scared of, and it’s what we train for. You learn what’s actually happening in the body when someone reacts. You learn how to stay steady, ground them and close the session safely. You practise this live, many times, before your assessment.
Am I a therapist after this?
No, and we’re clear about that. You’re a breathwork facilitator. You don’t diagnose or treat. You learn where your role stops, how to spot when a client needs more than a session, and how to refer them on to a GP, therapist or other professional.
If you’re already a counsellor or nurse, you learn how breathwork sits alongside your existing qualification.
Is this course accredited?
Yes!
The course is endorsed by CIMSPA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport & Physical Activity) with 10 CPD points. It is also accredited by IPHM (International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine). Both will allow you to become a Member and get professional recognition and discounted insurance.
Upon completion of the course you will receive an OPA Breathwork Facilitator Certificate which allows you to lead group and 1:1 breathwork sessions.
Further, the Ordinary People Academy is an organisational member of the International Breathwork Foundation and we adhere to their ethics and standards for the promotion of conscious breathing and breathwork as a vital tool for healing and well-being in all areas of life.
