According to the Health & Safety Executive’s Annual Statistics on Work-related ill health and Injury, 1.8 million workers reported they were suffering from work-related ill health in 2022/23, with approximately half of the cases down to stress, depression or anxiety. The current rate of self-reported work-related stress, depression or anxiety is higher than the pre-pandemic level.

HSE’s chief executive Sarah Albon said: “Preventing or tackling work-related stress can provide significant benefits to employees, improving their experience of work and their overall health; and also to employers including increased productivity, decreased absenteeism and reduced staff turnover.

Research has shown breathwork can positively impact everything from heart rate variability (linked to longevity and mental health) to managing symptoms of asthma, COPD, and even emotional challenges like anxiety and depression.

My name is Victoria Cunningham, CEO of the Ordinary People Academy, and I’m excited to introduce you to our new “Breathwork in the Workplace” taster sessions.

These one-hour sessions are designed to help your team discover powerful and simple techniques to reduce stress, anxiety, and self-doubt – right from their desks.

Breathing is something we all do naturally, but breathwork is different. It involves consciously adjusting your breathing patterns to uplift your mood, relax deeply, aid sleep, and even alleviate physical pain.

Through a combination of ancient practices like pranayama and modern, doctor-developed methods, our sessions offer both high and low oxygen techniques that can energise or calm depending on the needs of your employees.

The call was sooo uplifting… It was a beautiful space to be held and Victoria was knowledgeable with lots of connections.
