First things first – Ordinary People Academy is officially a limited company!
This leads me straight onto my main point this week which is that even though we’re all about working with ordinary people this does not mean we are unprofessional in our approach. In fact, it’s the exact opposite!
We are committed to offering professional development courses (and professionally run personal development courses) to help ordinary people transcend the ordinary and become extraordinary teachers (and humans).
All of our courses have been through a robust accreditation process and we have chosen to partner with awarding bodies that are well respected throughout the world.
Each of our Trainers are experts in their chosen field and we are all committed to continuing our own learning. In fact, I am currently undertaking ICF-accredited Coach Training because, even though I’ve been training and mentoring for over two decades, I have no formal coaching education and I want to add this to my offerings.
So why am I banging on about this now I hear you ask.
Because I’m trying my hardest to be as professional as possible but sometimes I fuck up. 🤣🤣 And it happened this evening during my “Pilates for Ordinary People” class when my cheap-ass microphone battery died in the middle of the Hundred and it then took me about 5 minutes of faffing about on audio settings to be heard again.
I was going to re-record the session or do a voiceover but, in the end, I decided to edit out the 5 minutes of faffing and just admit that my life isn’t always perfect. It’s busy, it’s messy and it’s real but it’s also a wondrous thing to be able to share it with you.
