If you’ve been following me for a while you will know how obsessed I am with the transformative power of breathwork. But here’s the thing… children DON’T NEED IT!
Whilst some children do enjoy stillness and being with their breath and will happily join us for part of our breathwork session, it is not generally how they process their experiences, express themselves, develop self-awareness and connect with their true self like adults do in Breathwork.
Instead I recommend they do this through PLAY.
Play is where children:
– Process their experiences and express a range of emotions
– Practise and try out new scenarios
– Re-write traumatic things that have happened to them
– Get into a state of flow and re-regulate their physical bodies and nervous systems
Kids use play to resolve their Fight, Flight, Freeze, and Fawn stress responses!
And through the Ordinary People Academy you can train to help children aged between 3 and 13 Stretch & Play!
